Summer was a busy season at our scuba and swim schools! Not only were our pools packed full of new skills and fun, but they were also spent in our community libraries teaching students about water safety and the underwater world.

Dr. Dirk Petersen, Founder and Executive Director of SECORE International made a special visit to Nebraska to speak at the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium followed by a tour of Diventures in Omaha. SECORE is a leading conservation organization for the restoration of coral reefs. They are a global network of scientists, public aquarium professionals and engineers implementing worldwide coral reef conservation through research, education, outreach and restoration.
Griffen at Diventures in North Liberty shows how easy and cute a scuba diver costume can be. The biggest challenge? Drink two 2-liters of soda for the cylinders! Add a pacifier with a ribbon attached to the cylinders to substitute for the regulator.
Searching for your next dive adventure? Look no further. At the coast of Belize lies the Mesoamerican reef, the largest reef in the Western Hemisphere. It is home to hundreds of species of fish and sharks and is covered in colorful coral and sponges.
Since the new school year has officially begun, life has gotten pretty hectic. Pick-up and drop-off times, after-school sports and weekend competitions, start to take over. And, there doesn’t seem to be much time in your schedule for anything else. While some things may need to take a backseat for the season, swim lessons should not be one of them.
On Saturday, August 20, 2022, Diventures, along with the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium and Keep Omaha Beautiful sponsored a lake cleanup at Standing Bear Lake. With over 45 people in attendance, this was the biggest cleanup the partnership has seen this season!
In line with this mission, Diventures was honored to host Dr. Brylske in Omaha to meet in-person and virtually with Diventures leadership and Dive Pros. Dr. Brylske is a renowned marine and diving educator, passionate about creating connections to our ocean ecosystems.
