Baby classes are designed for children ranging from 2 to 35 months old. Classes are divided by skill and age with consideration given to comfort level. Your swimmer will transition from hands-on classes with a parent, to independent classes with similarly skilled classmates. Safety skills are introduced first and progressively built on in subsequent sessions. Parents can expect to see their swimmer learn how to float on their back, climb out of the water, safely go underwater for the first time, and swim short distances independently.
Level 1 is designed for young and introductory level swimmers. Classes are divided by skill level and age with consideration given to keeping swimmers in classes with like aged classmates. Safety skills are introduced first and progressively built on in subsequent sessions. Parents can expect to see their swimmer learn how to float on their back, climb out of the water, safely go underwater for the first time, and swim short to moderate distances both independently and efficiently.
Level 2 is designed for swimmers that have established confidence and ability in the water. Classes are divided by skill level and age with consideration given to keeping swimmers in classes with like aged classmates. Safety skills are expanded upon and established skills are used to develop more technical skills and endurance. Parents can expect to see their swimmer learn how to breath efficiently while swimming, swim on their back, expand their underwater skills, and learn skills that will be developed into the four recognized competitive strokes.
Level 3 is designed for swimmers that have established endurance and technical skill in the water. Classes are divided by skill level and age with consideration given to keeping swimmers in classes with like aged classmates. Established skills are developed into the recognized competitive strokes. Parents can expect to see their swimmer learn basic stroke drills, flip turns and how to swim Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly and the IM.
This class is for those 16 years of age or older, who have little or no prior skills or experience with swimming. The goal of this class is for the swimmer to be comfortable with a two-minute tread, a two-minute back float, and able to jump in, turn around, and grab the wall. Students will learn to swim 20 meters without equipment, using windmill or freestyle arms and rollover breathing.
This class is for those at least 16 years of age and are comfortable with a two-minute tread, a two-minute back float, and can jump in, turn around, and grab the wall. Goals for this class include a five-minute tread without using any buoyancy device, a 40-meter swim, and a 40-meter swim using the elementary backstroke.
