My love for diving started with my dad, a Navy diver in Vietnam, teaching me how to snorkel in our swimming pool. After my first successful pool dive, I was hooked. I am a level 8 diver and my husband Joe and I both instruct for Diventures; we love sharing our passion for diving with others. My favorite sea creature is the seahorse, and my latest focus has been on digital videography and capturing the action to share with others back on land.
I grew up loving the water and swimming competitively. My first summer teaching lessons and coaching was in 2015. From babies to adults, I have a passion for driving progression and helping develop a love and respect for the water.

Bri is an open water diver who shares the love of water with her black lab, Bender. When they’re not jumping off the dock at Sun Valley lake, Brit enjoys traveling to tropical paradises and exploring the underwater world!
I started diving in Vermont in 2012. My university offered an Open Water course and I had always been interested in the water and curious about diving. I convinced my roommate and we did it together. After spending a year in Micronesia, I decided I wanted to pursue diving professionally. I traveled to Utila, Honduras in early 2018 to do my professional training, and since then, I have taught in Utila, Montana, Maui, Michigan, and now Iowa! I love sharing my passion and excitement for diving with my students.
I started diving in 2012 and I just want to get wet, everything else is just a surface interval. When I am not diving you can find me golfing, skiing, or riding my motorcycle. As a Divemaster, I am looking forward to providing an enthusiastic and thorough teaching style to promote a positive, relaxed, and fun learning atmosphere. I enjoy the trips to warmer waters like Florida, Mexico, and Honduras. However, I will dive anywhere at any time and would be happy to go diving with you at many of our local dive sites, or even in your backyard pool!
Damon has over six years of competitive swim experience and three years as a swim instructor. He likes to incorporate fun and discipline into each of his lessons and ensure that his students enjoy developing their strokes.
Dave started his professional career with the U.S. Navy Presidential Honor Guard prior to becoming a Jr. High math teacher. Since then he’s owned and operated Varsity Cleaners for over 20 years. For the past eight years, his family has snorkeled and dived all over the Caribbean. His favorite location to dive is the Bahamas.
My children and I were certified in 2016, and now I am a level 5 diver. Diving has allowed me to satisfy many desires including a passion for the ocean and its inhabitants, travel, people, gadgets, and personal development. As a dive professional, nothing excites me more than to share my passion with others. Diving has provided me with friends from all over the world, both above and below the surface.
Haley is currently a student at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, IL where she is studying biology. She hopes to become a Physician’s Assistant or a Doctobr. She first began swimming when she was very young. Her parents used to take her to the North Liberty Recreational Center pool. Ever since she has loved swimming and teaching children how to be safe in the water. Aside from her time at Diventures, Haley enjoys hanging with friends and playing a variety of sports like volleyball, soccer, and spikeball.

I work at a veterinarian clinic doing histopathology and microbiology. I’ve been diving since September of 2020 and fell in love with the sport. My personal goal was to get to Master Diver in one year and so I pursued that goal and am now looking to advance to instructing.
I was so confident about my ability and love for diving, that I actually purchased a total dive package before signing up for my first class. I showed up to the pool with every piece of dive equipment I would ever need, even had it all in a travel dive bag. That was in 2007. I never stopped taking classes and advancing my career. I became a dive professional in 2009. Now I dive with two of my kids who are certified also. My first dive in the ocean was with sharks in the Bahamas. I dove in Guam, the only place in the world where you can touch a WW1 and WW2 shipwreck at the same time. The earth is 70% water, might as well get under those waves and see what’s going on!
Director of New Business DevelopmentIndependent Instructor Trainer
I have always been drawn to the underwater world seen in pictures and movies. Once I learned it’s possible to dive in the Midwest, I never looked back. I have been teaching diving since 2008. I left my corporate engineering job in 2016 to be in the diving industry full-time with Diventures. My favorite classes to teach include Science of Diving and the pro classes. I have progressed to Assistant Instructor Trainer with SSI, which means I can teach the teachers of diving. I have had the opportunity to experience traveling to many dive destinations. From diving in Illinois to Indonesia and Grand Cayman to Galapagos – dive travel is my passion. I love leading trips which gives me the opportunity to use diving as a way to show my guests the world – both above and below water. Come divin’ with me!
I am a level 8 diver and have been diving since 2007. I have traveled to many places to dive both in salt water and fresh water. I love to photograph the underwater world and share my experiences with others.
My passion for being in the water began at an early age with rafting, swimming, and exploring the rivers and oceans of the Pacific Northwest. I joined the SSI dive program through Diventures in 2018 and worked my way to a level 4 Divemaster. I enjoy helping people of all ages learn how to be comfortable in the water so that they can also experience all that the underwater world has to offer.
I have been swimming since a few weeks after I was born and interested in diving for about as long as the water has been wet. I actually did my first dives in a pool in 1999 but didn’t do my open water course until 2013. Since then, I’ve enjoyed the warm, salty waters of Cozumel and Roatán, the frigid freshwater of Lake Michigan, and plenty of oceans, lakes, and quarries in between. My favorite underwater activity is macro photography. I’ve been a dive pro with Diventures since September of 2019. The best thing about being a dive pro is introducing new people to the underwater environment, helping them overcome their fears, and finding that aha moment when a new skill or technique suddenly clicks.
I have been diving since 1992. My favorite places to dive are anywhere in the Caribbean. I became a Dive Pro around 2018 and an Open Water Diver Instructor in September of 2021. My goals for the future are to retire and live off a boat for the rest of my life.
Miss Mac has been teaching swim lessons at Diventures for all ages for over 1 year. Her main goals for every session are to reviews and practice safety rules, build independence and confidence through exercises, and get at least one smile or laugh from each student. With over 10 years of program and educational teaching under her belt, Miss Mac loves creating a unique and engaging class session tailored for each week.
I participated in competitive swimming for four years and was best at backstroke. I enjoy singing and drawing in my free time. I love teaching and leading others. I strive to make learning as fun as possible.
I was Open Water certified in 2018. My first dive trip was through Diventures. I highly recommend a Diventures trip to Cozumel, which was my first. Of the five countries I have dived, St. Lucia is my favorite.
My passion for the seas and oceans has existed since my early childhood. I grew up on the Adriatic Sea coast and started to snorkel and free dive in the early 80s. I became a scuba dive professional and divemaster in 2021. Being a member of the scuba diving community has been a phenomenal experience and helped me meet many new friends on different continents. Becoming a scuba diver is a unique experience – one gets quickly surrounded by fast friends who will care for you as they have known you your whole life and will share the common goal of enjoying the wonders of the underwater world with each dive.
