Meet our team

AJ Koch

Retail Associate

I have been around water most of my life as a competitive swimmer, a lifeguard, and since 2014, a diver. I am a level 2 diver. The first time that I dove I was hooked because of the feeling of being free and the opportunity to explore new things.

Angie Fuller

Advanced Open Water Instructor

My love for diving started with my dad, a Navy diver in Vietnam, teaching me how to snorkel in our swimming pool. After my first successful pool dive, I was hooked. I am a level 8 diver and my husband Joe and I both instruct for DiVentures; we love sharing our passion for diving with others. My favorite sea creature is the seahorse, and my latest focus has been on digital videography and capturing the action to share with others back on land.

He was an educator in Iowa for over 30 years and being an SSI instructor enables Bill to combine his passion for being underwater with his love for education. As an avid underwater photographer, Bill has captured underwater sights around the world. Bill would welcome the opportunity to help you learn to dive, tune up or increase your skills, or have you contact him to just talk diving!

Jamie Nieuwenhuis

Retail Associate

I have always been in love with water ever since I was a kid. My grandma always said I was a fish born in a human’s body. While traveling the world I completed my open water certification in Thailand. I can’t wait to see what the dive future holds for me.

Jeff Hynek

Assistant Instructor

I was so confident about my ability and love for diving, that I actually purchased a total dive package before signing up for my first class. I showed up to the pool with every piece of dive equipment I would ever need, even had it all in a travel dive bag. That was in 2007. I never stopped taking classes and advancing my career. I became a dive professional in 2009. Now I dive with two of my kids who are certified also. My first dive in the ocean was with sharks in the Bahamas. I dove in Guam, the only place in the world where you can touch a WW1 and WW2 shipwreck at the same time.  The earth is 70% water, might as well get under those waves and see what’s going on!

His goal is to eventually dive on all seven continents, with Antarctica very high on the bucket list. Jim most enjoys wreck diving and night diving, and loves helping students learn and explore the underwater world.

I have always been drawn to the underwater world and the beauty I’ve seen in pictures and movies. Once I learned it’s possible to dive in Iowa, I never looked back. As a level 8 diver, I have helped many new divers take their first breaths underwater and have taught ages 10 to 66 since becoming a dive professional in 2008.

Growing up in the woods and waters of Wisconsin, I learned to love life in, on, and around water. From diving the Great Lakes to fishing, ice fishing, sailing, and canoeing – there’s not much I don’t enjoy when it comes to water! With a background in teaching, I completed open water certification in college and have been diving ever since. I’m a level 1 diver and always looking to further my experience. Let’s go diving!
