We carry high-quality dive equipment from leading scuba manufacturers. Our local in-house team of experts works one-on-one with customers to assist them in choosing the right gear for their diving level and desired adventure. Whether you are a cold water renegade or a tropical traveler, we’d love to dive with you.
Formerly known as Sub-Aquatic Sports & Service, Diventures carries on the legacy of Kim & Rick Sass who built and operated the premier scuba instruction center in Battle Creek and Kalamazoo for 40+ years.
Get scuba certified!
The SSI Open Water Diver certification is recognized globally and opens the door for exploring the waters in Michigan and far beyond!
Scuba certification with Diventures in Battle Creek starts at $500. This includes your Digital Learning materials and Classroom/Pool sessions with our instructors. Students also need to purchase their own Mask, Snorkel, Fins, Boots, Surface Marker Buoy & Reel for training. Buy them with us and save $100!
We have local opportunities to complete your four (4) Open Water Training Dives during the summer season, starting at $200. Or you can choose to complete them in the ocean on a Certification Vacation.
Try Scuba class
Want to try diving and learn to breathe underwater? This introductory class is 90 minutes of fun. You’ll start with orientation and then hop into the pool. We’ll provide all the equipment. All you need is a swimsuit.
Refresh your skills
If it’s been over a year since you donned your scuba gear, we recommend taking a Scuba Skills Update. Our dive professionals will review assembling and disassembling your gear, proper buoyancy skills, and emergency procedures.

We are located north of Battle Creek Executive Airport and Battle Creek Air National Guard Base, on North Helmer Road. Our local dive shop has served residents of Battle Creek, Springfield, Augusta, Marshall, and more for over 40 years.

Great Lakes Diving
The Great Lakes offer over 9,000 miles of sandy shorelines, endless clear blue water, quaint towns, and, luckily for divers, thousands of shipwrecks underwater.
Many ships historically met their demise due to unpredictable weather and poor navigation. Because of the epic storms, heavy fog, hidden shoals, and congested boat traffic, over 6,000 shipwrecks are said to be resting on the bottom of the Great Lakes! We challenge you to jump into the cold water and dive into history.
