Our wide variety of specialty scuba lessons are designed to help you improve the quality and enjoyment of your dives, plus learn new skills to expand the type of diving you can do. Achieve a specialty rating, like Advanced, or join the elite scuba diving expert ranks and become a Master Diver. You can expect personalized training from dive professionals that have received the highest level of recreational dive training certification and logged over 50,000 hours diving.

Boat Diving

This course will introduce you to a variety of boat diving techniques, specialized equipment, equipment stowing, and more. Includes home-study, academic review, and open water training dives.

Coral Identification

Learn the skills and concepts required to recognize and identify common families of coral species and their role in the ocean’s ecosystems. Includes home-study and academic review.

Deep Diving

Dive to 130 feet in places that only a few have explored before. Learn about descent lines, high-performance regulators, heavier lift BCs, backup tanks, and more. Includes home-study, academic review, and open water training dives.

Diver Stress & Rescue

Learn accident prevention, how to avoid, recognize and solve problems on land or under the water, and rescue skills. Includes home-study, academic review, a pool session, and open water training dives.

Required prerequisites: Diving First Aid or First Aid, O2 and CPR certs

Recommended prerequisites: Perfect Buoyancy; Navigation; Night Diving & Limited Visibility; Search & Recovery; at least 24 dives

Diving First Aid

DAN’s Diving First Aid program prepares you to handle multifaceted accidents with confidence. You will learn CPR and first aid, neurological assessment, emergency oxygen for diving injuries, and first aid for hazardous marine life injuries. Includes home-study and multiple academic reviews.

Dry Suit Diving

Dry suit diving gives you the opportunity to extend your diving to cold water environments. You’ll learn how to use and maintain your drysuit. Includes home-study, academic review, a pool session, and open water training dives. Divers must own a dry suit.

Enriched Air Nitrox

Learn how to have longer repetitive dive times with less nitrogen build-up in your body. Includes home-study and academic review.

Equipment Techniques

Learn how to fit, adjust, maintain, and make immediate small repairs to your scuba equipment. Includes home-study and academic review.

Fish Identification

Learn the skills and concepts required to identify the common families of the Caribbean, Indo-Pacific, and Red Sea reef fish. Includes home-study and academic review.

Manta & Ray Ecology

This program teaches you about the amazing variety of rays you can find in our oceans, how to recognize ray species by their unique physical characteristics and behaviors, and the vital role rays play in our ocean’s ecosystems. You will learn how to safely interact with rays, and why living animals are worth more to everyone. Includes home-study and academic review.

Marine Ecology

You’ll get a general understanding of the complex and exciting science of marine ecology, the study of how organisms interact with each other and the environment, the flow of energy through communities, and the link between ocean ecosystems. Includes home-study and academic review.

Navigation

Learn how to navigate with a compass, estimate distances, identify marking points, return to the exit point, and more. Includes home-study, academic review, and open water training dives. Divers must own an underwater compass.

Night Diving & Limited Visibility

When the sun goes down, there’s a whole different side of the underwater world. Learn specialty equipment and communication skills. Includes home-study, academic review, and open water training dives. Divers must own underwater lights.

Perfect Buoyancy

Learn to fly underwater! Buoyancy control is the most important skill a diver can learn. In this course, you will perfect your buoyancy, and enhance your diving experience. Includes educational materials, academic review, and practice sessions with our trained professionals.

Photo & Video

Learn to take consistent, quality underwater photos for diving memories that last a lifetime. Includes home-study, academic review, and a pool session. Divers must own a digital underwater camera system.

Recommended prerequisite: Perfect Buoyancy

Science of Diving

Learn about the theory behind decompression limits, the origins of tides, how to calculate air consumption formulas, and other dive theory topics. If you enjoy STEM, you’ll love this class. Includes home-study and multiple academic reviews.

Sea Turtle Ecology

Learn the skills and concepts required to recognize and identify common species of sea turtles, plus their history and role in marine ecosystems, and threats to their survival. Includes home-study and academic review.

Search & Recovery

Learn proper search patterns, how to handle lift bags, and to bring heavy objects securely to the surface. Includes home-study, academic review, a pool session, and open water training dives.

Recommended prerequisites: Navigation; Night & Limited Visibility

Shark Ecology

Whether sharks fascinate you or make you a little nervous, this class is a great way to learn what is fact and what is fiction. Learn how sharks and their behavior are often misunderstood and how you can safely observe them in their natural habitat. Includes home-study and academic review.

Spearfishing Safety and Training

Learn the etiquette and ethics of spearfishing, plus safety procedures, and an intro to spearfishing equipment – how to select, use, and maintain your gear. The class also covers underwater hunting techniques. Includes academic review, a pool session, and training dives.

Waves, Tides & Currents

Learn the skills and knowledge required to conduct dives from shore, in currents, and in different types of waves. Plus, how water motion can affect your diving experience. Includes home-study, academic review, and open water training dives.

Wreck Diving

Explore shipwrecks firsthand. Learn how to get the most out of each wreck dive with proper techniques, research, and how to locate wrecks. Includes home-study, academic review, and open water training dives.

Master Diver

The much sought-after Master Diver is a great step in your recreational diving career. This bundle includes your choice of four specialty classes and the Diver Stress & Rescue course. Complete the five specialty classes, log 50 open water dives, and you will automatically earn the SSI Master Diver recognition rating.
