Water Acclimation

A fear of water presents safety issues anytime you or your family is around water. This class is designed specifically to help swimmers  lessen or overcome their nervousness with highly personalized instruction (1:1 or 2:1 teacher to student ratio). Using teaching aids and a caring and empathetic approach, our instructors will gradually and gently introduce swimmers to the water in a way that they will feel safe and supported. Our teachers are specially trained to work with swimmers that have water anxiety, so you can be confident it will be a positive experience.

Level 1

This class focuses on relaxation and mobility in the water. Swimmers will learn basic skills like floating on their back, kicking, and pulling with their arms. They’ll also begin to submerge their face in the water, completing a blowing-bubbles exercise and performing a rollover breath. As importantly, they’ll learn valuable recovery skills for safety, including jumping in the water and floating to a wall for support. Swimmers will graduate to level 2 proudly swimming up to 7 feet independently in the water.

Level 2

Swimmers can progress in the water with a class that focuses on teaching important freestyle and backstroke swimming skills. They’ll safely learn the essentials of swim breathing, paddling, and kicking by using float boards that help them complete a roll away sequence, as well as other skills for freestyle and backstroke swimming success. As they gain more and more confidence by using their entire body and breathing properly, swimmers will complete the class having the crucial ability to swim freestyle and backstroke independently for up to 10 feet!

Level 3

Once a swimmer has some fundamental skills with freestyle and backstroke, this class helps them to improve and enhance these core skills. Also, they’ll expand their swim skills and be introduced to the breaststroke. Using a kickboard and other aids, they will learn to swim all three strokes easily and efficiently, giving them valuable water skills that they’ll use all their lives. At the end of this level, swimmers will be able to  perform all three swim strokes independently for a full pool length!

Level 4

Swimmers can take their skills to a whole new level by refining the strokes they’ve already learned – freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke – while also introducing them to the butterfly. This class enhances the abilities and self-confidence with strokes they already know, plus they’ll build upon their water prowess with the more technically difficult and athletic butterfly. Swimmers will be able to proudly swim the freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly for an impressive two pool lengths by the completion of this level!

Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Great place for little people to learn to swim!
