Select Class Level

Baby — Beginner

In our “Baby & Me” or Baby – Beginner class, swimmers will have a parent alongside them. We focus on getting both baby and parent comfortable in the water. Parents can expect to see their baby learning to float on their back, climb in and out of the water, and safely go underwater.

Most babies age out of “Baby & Me” when they reach 3 years and transition to our Level 1 – Beginner class. Some toddlers who display confidence in the water and can float and swim 3 feet on their own graduate to our more advanced baby swim class, Baby – Independence.

Baby — Independence

Baby – Independence is for toddlers who have graduated from our Baby – Beginner class. Parents are no longer required in the water with their little one. Toddlers must be able to float on their own and swim 3 feet independently (with no help). This class focuses on advancing their safety skills and learning to swim independently with windmill arms and rollover breathing.

At age 3, swimmers age up to Level 1 – Beginner or Level 1 – Advanced.

Level 1 — Beginner

Our Level 1 classes are divided by level and age so your swimmer is with peers at a similar stage. Make sure to check ages when choosing a Level 1 class below.

Level 2

Level 2 teaches kids to swim 40 feet independently with strong rollover and side breathing. Swimmers will gain endurance and learn elementary backstroke! Swimmers must be able to swim 20 feet independently to take this class.

Level 3 — Intermediate (Level 3, INT)

Level 3 Intermediate is for kids who can swim 40 feet independently. Swimmers will learn technical skills and work on endurance so they can swim backstroke and freestyle 25 yards with flip turns.

Level 3 — Advanced (Level 3, ADV)

Level 3 Advanced is for kids who want to master the four competitive strokes and swim 100 yards with confidence! Swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards (75 feet aka a full regulation lap length) independently to take this class.

Adult — Beginner

For anyone 16 years and older who has little to no prior experience with swimming. We can help you conquer your fears and/or reach a new milestone in the pool.

We’ll work on gaining comfort, floating, treading, and–when you’re ready–swimming 20 yards. Additional work in the water will include jumping in, turning around, grabbing the wall, using windmill arms, and mastering rollover breathing.

Adult — Advanced

For anyone 16 years and older who is comfortable in the water, but wants to build confidence, endurance, and technique. Students should be able to jump in, tread water for two minutes, and float on their back.

We will work together to increase treading time and achieve longer distances in both freestyle and backstroke. Goals for the advanced adult class include a five-minute tread without using any buoyancy device, a 40-yard freestyle swim, and a 40-yard backstroke.

Tori Motteler

Independent Open Water Instructor / Lifeguarding Instructor Trainer

I grew up in the water. I learned to swim at a young age and was on swim team from elementary school through high school both in the United States and Europe. In high school, I started lifeguarding at Fort Jackson in Columbia SC. I became an Open Water Diver in March 2013 for a college credit through Wateree Dive Center. A couple years after moving to Georgia, I hadn’t been near the water in a long time and I was itching to get back to it. I took a small step back to the water when I started at SeaVentures in August 2017 as a weekend part time swim instructor while maintaining my logistics career.
