Villa on Dunbar Rock
Where we are diving
Right off the shore of Guanaja, Honduras lies a towering villa perched on a rock, surrounded by water with 360º views. This is Dunbar Rock. This dream destination offers a totally unique experience. Because of its isolation, the diving is pristine and flourishing with colorful coral and marine life.
With over 50 dive sites, you’ll get the opportunity to dive walls, swim throughs, and wrecks. There are also more than 300 identified fish species in the Bay Island waters. You can see Angelfish, Hamlets, Butterflyfish, Creole Wrasse, Grouper, Jackfish, Moray eels, Octopus, Parrotfish, and Nurse sharks, to name a few.
The incredible service Dunbar Rock’s dive team provides is second to none. Their concierge diving means you won’t need to lift a finger. The team will carry your gear onto the boats, prepare it for the dive, change it over for the second dive and rinse and store it at the end of the dive day. Your only assignment is to sit back and enjoy.

Free Activities and Tours Included in Your Stay
Self-Guided Kayaking: The Villa on Dunbar Rock has two sea kayaks available for complimentary use. You are free to explore the nearby cays, paddle to the main island or simply tour around the waters. Those interested in a more in-depth kayak experience should consider making a reservation for an all-day sea kayaking tour with our “neighbor” Roland.
Little Waterfall Tour at Bo’s Place: During the week when returning from diving or killing time on a surface interval, we may take a short hike up to one of the small but extremely picturesque waterfalls and explore the gardens surrounding Bo’s place.
Tour of Bonacca Town: The Villa staff enjoys taking any guest who wishes to go for a walking tour of Bonacca Town. Talk to our staff if you would like a tour.
Viewing the night skies: The Villa is an ideal location for stargazing as there is no light pollution to interfere with your viewing. The nights are generally so clear that a good pair of binoculars is all you will need to be able to identify constellations as well as the Milky Way and Andromeda Galaxy.
