Cayman Brac is a small island located in the Caribbean Sea, and it is one of the three islands that make up the Cayman Islands. It is known for its stunning natural beauty and diverse wildlife, as well as its world-class diving sites.

The island is surrounded by crystal clear waters that are home to colorful coral reefs, tropical fish and other marine life. Visitors can enjoy activities such as snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, kayaking or simply relax on the island’s beautiful beaches. 

The island is known for its limestone cliffs that rise up to 140 feet above sea level. Cayman Brac is a laid-back destination, perfect for those seeking relaxation and outdoor activities. Visitors can enjoy hiking through the island’s nature reserves, fishing, bird-watching and exploring local culture and history.

What To Expect

Scuba Diving

Join us as we head to Cayman Brac for a tropical getaway! With almost 70 dive sites to choose from, there is something for every level of diver. You’ll enjoy little to no current, which is perfect for new divers, divers who want to move at their own pace and underwater photographers who want to get the perfect shot. Cayman Brac is known for its crystal clear waters, amazing swim-throughs and beautiful reefs with ample marine life.

Dives will include walls, reefs and wrecks with a special trip to the Bloody Bay Wall Marine Park. The trademark turtles of the Cayman Islands will definitely catch your eye along with eagle rays, angelfish and reef sharks. Complete your dive trip to their artificial reef. There you will see MV Captain Keith Tibbetts, a 330-foot long Russian frigate renamed and sunk in 1996.

Reef Divers

During our trip, we will be diving with Reef Divers Dive shop. They provide you with personalized valet dive service so you can sit back and relax as they handle all the heavy lifting. They rinse, dry and store your BCD and regulator daily, so they’re set up and ready for your next day’s diving. The dive shop has separate rinse tanks for photo equipment and wetsuits and general dive gear. There is also a dry room for hanging your wetsuits and mesh bags so you don’t have to take them to your room.

Cayman Brac Beach Resort

The Cayman Brac Beach Resort is located on the west end of the island. The small resort offers big resort amenities. Relax in a lounge chair and hammock  at the pool, or pamper yourself at the spa. If you still have the energy to burn, you can hike the island nature trails, explore caves or even try climbing on the Bluff.

Culture

Cayman Brac is the place to go for a mix of charm and adventure. There is something for everyone, from thrill-seekers to nature-lovers thanks to the unique, natural beauty of the island. The island is known for its rugged, limestone cliffs, lush, tropical vegetation, and clear waters with diverse marine life. It is also the only place where the Cayman Brac Parrot can be found. Visit the Heritage House on the island for an even greater look into the culture. The easy-going culture and natural beauty make Cayman Brac a perfect destination. 

Hiking

Hike one of twelve marked trails while you are on the Brac. The well-marked trails will take you through wetlands, forests, and to The Bluff. The Bluff, what Cayman Brac is named after, is the highest point in all the Cayman Islands, providing spectacular views.

Parrot Preserve

Visit the Cayman Brac Parrot Reserve to spot these colorful feathered friends. The Cayman Brac Parrot is endangered and can only be found on Cayman Brac. They’re given the nickname “Stealth Parrot” because of their ability to camouflage among the leaves of the trees. Get to the Reserve early morning or late afternoon for a chance to hear these birds sing. If you’re a bird watching enthusiast and want to see more than just parrots, Cayman Brac is still the place for you. Over 200 species of birds can be found here.

Caves and Rock Climbing

For adventure seekers, there are numerous caves to check out on the island and ample opportunities for rock climbing. Some caves have unique histories, such as being used by pirates to stash their treasure chests or being used by residents for hurricane protection. The caves offer stalactite and stalagmite formations, great views and unique history. For those wanting to rock climb, there are 75 different routes suitable for experienced rock climbers.

Must be valid 6 months beyond the dates of your trip.

Money exchange

The Cayman Islands Dollar is the currency of the Cayman Islands. It is abbreviated with the dollar sign $, or alternatively CI$ to distinguish it from other dollar-denominated currencies. It is subdivided into 100 cents.  They accept the US Dollar everywhere, but change will be in the local currency.

Dress code

Casual, t-shirt and shorts are acceptable.

Language

English is the official language in Cayman Brac.
