Summer is here and we’re ready to DIVE, DIVE, DIVE! Read about some of the accessories our team can’t live without when they are exploring their local waters.
1. Cutting Tool
Two words: fishing line. In many of the freshwater diving sites that we frequent, fishermen also frequent and their lines often get left behind. Having an easily accessible simple cutting tool is critical for ensuring a safe dive.

2. Neoprene Hood
Thermoclines in freshwater can be rough and having a good quality hood can make or break your dive. Around 30% of your body heat is lost through your head and having a good quality hood can easily extend your dive through keeping your body toasty.

3. “Clippies” or Double Ender Bolt Snaps
There are 101+ uses for clippies and divers can never have enough of them. They are incredibly handy for securing gear like spools, SMBs, and other accessories to the D-Rings on our BCDs. They keep everything streamlined and accessible, which reduces clutter and improves safety and efficiency underwater. We only have two hands, and with most diving being from the shore locally, having quality double enders helps get everything into the water with one trip.

1. Drysuit
We live in the Midwest… water likes to get and stay cold! I want to dive year-round, so my drysuit is my number one piece of gear.

2. Heated Vest
I have grown to LOVE active heat under my drysuit. It means I need less bulky undergarments, and I can be toasty warm.

3. Flashlight

1. Mesh Backpack
The Bonaire Mesh Bag is perfect for transporting gear to and from the dive site. It’s lightweight, breathable, and helps reduce the number of trips back to the car.

2. Rattle Stick
A great tool for getting a diver’s attention. This is ideal for guiding or reconnecting with your buddy in limited visibility.

3. Trident Mini Sea Snips
Compact and essential for cutting fishing line or other entanglements in the water. A handy safety item to keep close!

1. Star Tool
This is an essential that comes in handy more often than you’d think! Makes it easy to remove and replace most scuba hoses.

2. Weights and Weight Pouches
These are total lifesavers. Whether it’s clipping extra gear to yourself or quickly fixing pool ropes to the right length, they’re super versatile. Someone always ends up needing one, and being able to clip gear where it’s needed is a huge help.

3. Bolt Snaps and Double-Enders
Compact and essential for cutting fishing line or other entanglements in the water. A handy safety item to keep close!
