OMAHA, Neb. (October 7, 2025) – Diventures, the nation’s largest network of scuba and swim centers, today announced the opening of its 19th location in Des Moines, Iowa. This marks the latest expansion of the company’s physical presence.
The Des Moines store will be located at 15966 Hickman Road in Clive, Iowa. Services will include scuba certification from beginner to professional levels, equipment sales, gear service, air fills, and a travel agency specializing in group and private dive trips around the world. To facilitate training, Diventures will partner with several pools in the Des Moines metro area for weekend and evening classes.
“We are thrilled to bring the Diventures experience to Central Iowa,” said Dean Hollis, founder of Diventures. “Our goal is to build thriving diving communities across the United States, and we are excited to do that in Des Moines, Iowa.”
The store will be led by Scuba Experience Manager and Divemaster Instructor Rob Fessler. Fessler is a Des Moines native and a scuba fanatic. He has been an active member of the Diventures team for several years and has quickly built a strong and loyal following of passionate divers and instructors.
Hollis says Diventures’ expansion preference is to work with existing successful dive shop owners, to leverage the Diventures offerings and build on and elevate the legacy business’s foundation. “However, when we have passionate and talented people who buy into our mission, vision, and values, we will support them to enter underserved markets. Rob Fessler in Des Moines is a perfect example of that approach,” Hollis added.
“Rob’s a leader who truly embodies our ‘safety-obsessed and fun-focused’ culture. We are confident this new store will become a vibrant gathering place for divers of all skill levels.”

Diventures is planning a ribbon cutting and open house with the Waukee Chamber of Commerce on Friday, October 17, at 3:30 p.m. They will continue with a soft opening for the rest of October. Check the store’s Facebook page for details and open hours.
A grand opening celebration will follow on Saturday, November 8. Attendees can meet the Diventures team, shop, and join seminars on advanced training, dive travel, marine ecology, and more. The celebration is open to the public and will feature scuba prizes and giveaways, including a liveaboard trip on the Spirit of Maldives!
