Rick and Kim Sass started Sub-Aquatic Sports & Service 42 years ago.

Below is a note Rick and Kim wrote to their customers thanking them for their years of friendship and amazing underwater memories.

Q: What do you call a person who is happy on Mondays? A: Retired!!!

Yes, the day has finally come when we, Rick and Kim Sass, are stepping back from the day-to-day running of the dive business. As of July 9th, we are retired and are super excited about the next chapter in our lives.

• Will there be diving? Absolutely!
• Will there be travel? Of course!
• Will you still see us hanging around the store? Occasionally
• Will we be washing dirty wetsuits? NO!

So, please allow us this one last opportunity to thank you for the many years of patronage. We are truly and deeply appreciative of your support.

When we started this business 42 years ago, with little money but lots of determination, we never dreamed that it would lead to such an experience-rich and blessed life. We loved sharing this amazing underwater world with you, we loved watching your children grow and participate in the sport, and we loved all the friends that were made along the way. Again, thank you!

Finally, we would also like to thank Dean Hollis, owner of Diventures, for seeing and appreciating the dive community that has developed here in little Battle Creek. I cannot think of a better person to hand Sub-Aquatic Sports & Service over to. His vision for the future of diving is impressive and he has a winning team to make things happen. We leave here knowing that you are in good hands and that there are exciting dive opportunities in your future.

Sincerely,
Rick & Kim Sass
