Big news! Pat Dunn, prior SSI International Training Director, joins Diventures as the Scuba Program Director

“We’re excited to announce the addition of Pat Dunn to our Diventures family,” said Dean Hollis, founder of Diventures. “In his role with SSI, Pat was an exceptional partner for Diventures and we’ve long admired his ability to build and sustain professional programs. We were both humbled and excited when Pat approached us about joining Team Diventures in pursuit of our vision to use our passion and the power of water to impact lives, change the world and have fun doing it.”

Pat Dunn’s scuba experience dates well before he opened Thunder Island Divers Director in 1979, a three-store chain he successfully ran until 1992. Having tried scuba at the age of 10 in a pond in a city park he was hooked. After certifying in 1977, he moved to Hawaii to become a Scuba Instructor. Through his years of diving and instruction, Pat has been a PADI Instructor and Course Instructor. Since joining SSI in 1997, he has achieved the levels of SSI Platinum Pro 50000 Instructor, Instructor Certifier, and most recently, International Training Director, of which he is only one of two in the United States.

“I have been working with and following Diventures for years,” said Dunn, “I have always been impressed with their commitment to quality, safety and exceptional customer experience. After seeing their long-term vision and watching them start to implement, I knew I wanted to be part of this dynamic and forward-thinking team.”

“Pat is an awesome addition to our Store Support team,” says Will Munroe, general manager of Diventures, “In his new role as Director of Scuba programming, Pat will be responsible for building and strengthening our nationwide corps of dive professionals and enhancing our scuba programming enterprise-wide. I can’t imagine someone better suited for the task of helping grow our dive professionals and the sport of scuba diving.”

“I am also pleased to announce that Kim Infield has been promoted from Director of Scuba programming to Senior Director of Store Support,” added Will, “Kim has done a great job laying the groundwork of our dive professional development program and has led the implementation of several critical cross-functional initiatives. In her new role as ‘chief of staff,’ Kim will be focused on ensuring our store teams are consistently getting exceptional customer service from our Store Support team. She will continue to lead key integration, optimization, and growth initiatives.”

Diventures announced the moves as key to their plans for accelerated nationwide growth in 2021 and beyond.
