Swim, scuba and dive enthusiasts living along the Iowa City-Cedar Rapids corridor will turn their eyes to North Liberty this month. On January 20, 2017, Diventures will open their newest location at 555 Highway 965 South. The new location will include a 1,000 square foot retail store, classroom space for scuba certification programs and a full-service travel operation for scuba enthusiasts seeking the best diving experiences around the world.

Dean Hollis, owner of Diventures, feels the North Liberty location will receive a warm welcome from an underserved scuba community.

“Diventures will be THE place for certified scuba divers to socialize and network with other enthusiasts, and for anyone who has ever considered learning to scuba dive,” said Hollis. “They’ll find top quality instruction, the world’s finest gear and a full service travel operation catering to those who want to book dive trips, or who just want to escape the winter chill.”

JoAnn Haack, the new facility’s manager, is well known within the local scuba community. With eight years of instructional experience, she has taught over 700 scuba students both privately and through the University of Iowa.

“Diventures allows me to offer my students a wide array of gear for purchase or rental,” said Haack. “Plus, they can bring their current gear here for servicing, too. Our team includes instructors and staff with thousands of hours of dive experience and the highest level of recreational dive training certification. Divers will feel at home here.”

Within the next two years, Diventures plans to add an indoor heated pool for swim, fitness and scuba training. Until then, Diventures scuba certification programs will conduct in-water training at the North Liberty Aquatic Center on West Cherry Street.
