St Lucia – sold out

Tranquility, romance and adventure

Where we are diving

Join Trip Leader Ted Fitzsimmons in St Lucia – one of the most scenic and ecologically rich locations in the Caribbean. You’ll enjoy the easily accessible and coral-rich house reef. The Anse Chastanet Reef has been voted one of the top five shore dives in the Caribbean. It’s located in the heart of St Lucia’s world renowned marine park and is home to more than 150 different species of fish, a 25-foot plateau and dramatic slopes that fall away to 140 feet. Be sure to keep your eyes open for flounders, octopus, needle fish and turtles. Drop down over deeper dense coral growths to see puffers, moray eels, parrot fish, lobsters and even sea horses. The reef has a remarkable ecosystem and is a great dive site for all abilities. Other dive sites are just a short boat ride across calm seas away and include Superman’s Flight, Coral Gardens, Jalouise, Piton Wall and the wreck of the Lesleen M.

Where we are staying

The Anse Chastanet estate encompasses 600 lush acres of green rain forest foliage with gushing waterfalls, exotic flowers, colorful butterflies and birds; the borders include two soft sand beaches; and the property contains a historical plantation where the resort grows its own organic produce. The resort’s two crystal-clear bays are part of a designated marine reserve with pristine coral reefs just offshore. The foliage and the flowers, the perfumes and the peaks, the sea and the bird song are an integral part of the hotel. To make the most of the panoramic views and tradewinds, the open-air cottages include balconies and louvered windows. The resort has an iconic view of both the Piti and Gros Piton mountains. There is plenty to keep you busy, paddle boarding, sailing, kayaking, waterfall hikes, off-road biking and the incredible spa. Although the resort is secluded, there is live music every night and two restaurants to choose from.

What prior travelers say

“This is one of my favorite dive locations. It’s a lush, tropical location with the benefits of both mountains and the ocean. The resort is spectacular, set on the side of a mountain with open air rooms; it’s like sleeping in a rain forest! The diving is relaxing, short boat rides, calm seas, and amazing shore diving with great macro life.”
