Where we are diving
Join Trip Leader Chris Hill to the white sand beaches of Pensacola. The warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico lap the endless beaches on the Sunshine State’s Panhandle, and just offshore is some of Florida’s best scuba diving. Florida’s Panhandle is a seascape of wrecks, towers and ledges, all brimming with supersized fish. Just miles off some of the Panhandle’s coast are hundreds of ships and artificial reef structures that dot the ocean floor. Popular dive sites include: USS Oriskany, SS San Pablo and Pete Tide II.

What prior travelers say
Diving the Oriskany allows one to see a massive warship that once projected power throughout the world peacefully laying in her final resting place as a haven for a multitude of marine life. Seeing the Oriskany for the first time as she takes shape under a diver during the descent gives one a new sense of scale as the sheer size of the vessel becomes apparent. She’s a treasure waiting for underwater adventurers to come and find her.
