Ladies only aboard the Aqua Cat

Where we are diving

Katy Roberts is the trip leader on this ladies-only week aboard the Aqua Cat. Experience exceptional scuba diving like no other place in the Caribbean. The variety of dive sites in the Exuma Cays is truly unique. Because it can only be reached on a liveaboard, this underwater world is pristine and filled with an abundance of colorful fish, macro-critters, corals, sponges, fans, lobster and sharks. You will enjoy walls that begin as shallow as 40 feet, high speed drift dives through the cuts of the cays, and blue holes banked by patch reefs with huge schools of fish.

Important Details

Know before you go

Temperature
The average daily high is 88°F with lows around 74°F. The average water temperature is 80°F.

Electricity
All guest cabins, main salon and photo table on the dive deck have US outlets for 120 volts/ 15 amps.

Passports
Please ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months after your return to your country of origin.

Etiquette & Customs
The atmosphere on board the Aqua Cat is always relaxed and casual. You’ll spend your days in bathing suits and casual wear. Bring shorts or jeans, T-shirts and a windbreaker. Also bring a pair of sandals, hat, suntan lotion (non-oil), reef safe sunscreen and sunglasses.

Wifi
The Aqua Cat does not offer connectivity onboard. Your smart device may be able to connect to the internet when you are within range of the two cell towers in the central Bahamas. Otherwise, you are disconnected. Breathe, it’ll be okay! Be sure your cell provider has international service with the Bahamas before you go.

Water
Technically, tap water is drinkable throughout The Bahamas. Still, we suggest opting for the bottled water when off-board the Aqua Cat. Bottled water is available at stores and supermarkets, and tastes better than that from a tap. On many of the Out Islands, rainfall is the main source of water — so be sure to drink bottled water there.

Taxes
Because The Bahamas is so much like America in their hospitality standards, you should also tip like you would in the States. The standard 15%-20% tip should be used, especially in touristy areas and at resorts. Note: Some places automatically add a 15% gratuity to the total of the bill. Make sure to confirm if the tip has been added automatically to your bill before you shell out more money for a tip.

Currency
The Bahamas currency is Bahamian dollars, which are equivalent to the U.S. dollar and are interchangeable. If you have US dollars, there is no need to exchange currency on the boat or on land! You can charge your specialty classes, boutique purchases, and crew gratuity to your cabin account. Aqua Cat accepts VISA, MasterCard and Discover.
