Open Water Diver Digital Learning
Study at your pace with SSI’s Digital Learning and discover what it takes to be a safe & comfortable diver. Review questions and videos will show you how to put your knowledge to use in the real world.

Additional Steps To Earn Your Certification
Classroom & Pool Sessions
After finishing up your Digital Learning, it’s time to learn alongside a scuba instructor in classroom and pool sessions. You’ll practice and master the skills needed to enjoy diving safely.
Details & Requirements:
- 2-4 sessions depending on dive shop
- Must be medically fit for diving
- Junior certification available for ages 10-14
Training Dives
Four (4) training dives in open water are required to complete your certification. From there you’ll be certified to dive to 60 feet (40 feet for Junior divers). You can work with your local dive shop to complete training dives near you or coordinate Referral Training Dives with an SSI facility anywhere in the world!

- Must be completed within six months of your classroom & pool work
